With the choir of St. Athanasius Orthodox Church in Santa Barbara, CA

Welcome to my website! Here you can find scores to all of my Liturgical works.

I have committed my musical efforts to serving the Orthodox Church. While my music has been performed by the choirs of Archangel Voices, St. Vladimir Seminary, The Spirit of Orthodoxy, Benedict Sheehan, and the Society of St. Romanos the Melodist, my heart lies in the service of your average Orthodox parish; I’ve trained choirs, singers, and choral directors to help them dive deeper into the salvific and beautiful power of our hymnography, and I strive to meet the needs of choirs that have missing parts, are dealing music that is too difficult, want to encourage congregational singing, need guidance in choral leadership, or who seek to learn more about the musical traditions of the Orthodox faith.

Ultimately, the core of my service lies in creating simple yet beautiful music that will engage singers and laity alike.

I’m a professional pianist, choir director, and composer with a Bachelors in Jazz from SDSU and an MFA in Composition from UC Irvine.

In my early career as a performer, I toured with some amazing musicians and have been in ensembles that headlined festivals, played international stages, and performed in historically notable venues. Shortly after earning my degrees, I turned my attention to the hymnography of the Orthodox Church; my hymns were being recorded, I was receiving commissions from churches and monasteries, and was being asked to lead workshops at various parishes.

When I’m not composing, I’m watching my 3 awesome kids as a stay-at-home dad.

In 2020, while I was a choir director, we met a beautiful 2-year-old boy whom we are adopting. Then a year later my wife gave birth to twin boys and we instantly had a very, very full and lively family. Family life is incredible, and it is an absolute joy to introduce our young ones to church life and hear them singing Liturgical hymns as their first songs!

My family. And yes, they’re as awesome as they look.
